Career Courses
Hands-On Learning for Real-World Careers.

They provide valuable skills, knowledge and hands on experience to help students achieve their goals towards a specific career path. These are non-credit courses but students will receive a certificate upon successful completion.

Advanced Gemmology Courses
Deepen your expertise. Expand your skills. Stay inspired.
Advanced Gemmology Courses are designed to help gemmology students with their education and hands-on learning as they work towards the Professional Gemmology Program completion. Some classes are supplements to the Professional Gemmology Program and others are certificate courses.

Professional Gemmology Program
Build Your Career with CGA’s Professional Gemmology Program.
The Professional Gemmology Program can be broken up into two parts. The first part is Gemmology Basics and upon successful completion, students move on to Professional Gemmology. Completing both parts sequentially culminates in the option to write the CGA Fellowship exam. FCGmA certification is awarded when the student passes the CGA Fellowship exam.
AFFILIATES
Consistent with the CGA’s mandate to encourage the dissemination of gemmological knowledge and to promote high technical and ethical standards, the Association works with affiliated schools to offer the Canadian Professional Gemmology Program. Affiliates teach the same material as the CGA offers directly, and graduates of affiliate programs are eligible to write the CGA’s qualifying examinations for Fellowship with the Association.
The Gemmological Association of Great Britain, or Gem-A, is the world’s oldest educator of Gems and Jewellery. They taught their first first gem course in 1908. Today, Gem-A courses are taught in multiple languages around the world, and their designations are globally recognized.
