Has it been a while since you peered through a microscope? Or used your spectroscope? Our April monthly meeting is a fantastic, fun and relaxed opportunity for our members to refresh their observation skills or just examine their latest gemstone purchase. Members are encouraged to bring one or two items for testing or to show o’, and of course their own hand instruments. The classroom will provide microscopes, refractometers, polariscopes and a UV light cabinet. Small handheld instruments will be available for purchase if you need to replace yours. Anita Beardwood, one of our CGA Instructors will be on hand with a short instrument review.

Anita Beardwood FCGmA, GIA AJP CPAA has had a career in both gemmology and education. She has been an instructor with the CGA since 2000 combined with her 26 years as a Professor at George Brown College. She has served the CGA as a Board member, a past Director of Education and a Chairperson for numerous CGA conferences. Most recently she worked at Gem-A as the London Education Co-ordinator.
